Information we collect
Information you give us. Your name, email address, telephone number, business name, state of formation, ownership details and any information you include in a message or engagement document.
Information collected automatically. IP address, browser type and version, device type, referring page, pages visited and time spent, collected through server logs and, where you consent, analytics cookies.
Information from third parties. Where you engage us for filings, we may receive confirmations, receipts and status updates from state agencies and the Internal Revenue Service relating to your matter.
How we use your information
To respond to enquiries and provide the free consultation you request.
To prepare, review and submit filings and documents you have instructed us to handle.
To issue quotes, invoices and receipts and to process payment through our payment processor.
To send service messages, including compliance deadline reminders relating to your own entity.
To maintain records required by law, to detect and prevent fraud, and to defend legal claims.
To improve the content and performance of our website, where you have consented to analytics cookies.
Legal bases
Where United States law applies, we process personal information to perform a contract with you, to comply with legal obligations, and in our legitimate interest in operating and improving our business. Where the EU or UK GDPR applies to a visitor, we rely on contract performance, legal obligation, legitimate interests, and consent for optional cookies and marketing messages. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Marketing communications
We do not sell mailing lists and we do not send unsolicited bulk email. If you opt in to occasional updates, every message includes an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately. Transactional messages about a matter we are actively handling for you are not marketing and continue while the engagement is open.
Sharing your information
We share personal information only with: state filing agencies and the IRS as required to complete your instructed filings; our payment processor for card and ACH transactions; our email, document storage and hosting providers acting on our instructions under written agreements; and professional advisors or authorities where required by law. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with advertising networks for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Cookies
Our site uses a small number of cookies. Essential cookies remember your cookie preference and keep the site functioning. Optional analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in our cookie banner. Full detail, including how to change your choice, is in our Cookie Policy.
Data retention
Enquiry records that do not become engagements are deleted within 24 months. Client files, filings and financial records are retained for seven years from the end of the engagement to meet tax, accounting and professional record-keeping obligations, after which they are securely destroyed.
Security
Information is stored on access-controlled systems protected by encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, multi-factor authentication on staff accounts, and least-privilege access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we ask that you do not send sensitive identifiers such as full Social Security Numbers by ordinary email; we will provide a secure upload link instead.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to have inaccurate information corrected, to request deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a portable copy, and to withdraw consent. California residents may additionally request disclosure of the categories of information collected and may opt out of any sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA/CPRA. To exercise any right, email {EMAIL}. We respond within 45 days and never charge a fee or discriminate against you for making a request.
International transfers
We are based in the United States and information you provide is processed here. If you contact us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and stored in the United States, and we apply appropriate safeguards with our service providers.
Children
Our services are intended for adults operating businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we delete it promptly.
Third-party links
Our website links to state agency websites and other third-party resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites and encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or the law. Material changes are announced on this page with a revised “last updated” date, and where required we will notify affected clients by email.
